Eufy RoboVac G30 Hybrid Review: A Feature-Packed Robot Vacuum Under $110
As someone who loathes chores, I’ve always been willing to invest in convenience. That’s why I’d been using Anker’s Eufy RoboVac 11S for cleaning, but eventually, even pressing the button on it became a hassle.
This is the Eufy RoboVac 11S I’ve been using.
It’s one of the most affordable robot vacuums you can buy, usually around $249.99. Made by Anker, it’s a solid product with a proper 18-month warranty. While it’s a good device, today I’m excited to share my experience with a new one: the Eufy RoboVac G30 Hybrid! Though, why this color scheme? Brown and black? And this spinning brush… I wish they had gone for a more stylish and youthful navy blue.
Why make the upgraded model look like a cockroach? Oh well, at least we didn’t have any roaches in our house this summer! So, switching from the 11S to the G30 Hybrid has been a huge QoL (Quality of Life) improvement for me. Let’s dive into this robot vacuum. I can already hear some of you saying, “A robot vacuum? Why bother? How lazy are you?!” But today, I want to convey the truth about this convenience. It’s amazing. I should have bought it sooner!
This (11S White, right) is the most basic model, and this (G30 Hybrid, Left) is the upgraded one.
The biggest difference? This cat mark! You know this mark, right? The Wi-Fi symbol. This model connects to Wi-Fi. What does that mean? Well, there’s a display here, and Google Assistant is hidden in the back. That means you can control the RoboVac G30 Hybrid by giving commands to Google Assistant. This is revolutionary! You might think, “How convenient can that be?” I thought so too. I used the 11S for three years, thinking, “I don’t need an upgraded model!” I figured the cleaning frequency and performance would be the same even with Google Assistant or Wi-Fi connectivity. Why did I try to save 15,000 yen by buying the cheapest model? If I had spent the extra 15,000 yen on this G30 Hybrid from the start, I would have been so much happier… Give me back my three years! But don’t worry. It’s never too late to adopt this RoboVac.
So, I purchased the upgraded Eufy RoboVac G30 Hybrid, which can be controlled via voice commands by linking with Google Assistant. This review will cover my experience with it.
The Dream of Fully Automated Cleaning
As mentioned earlier, the Eufy RoboVac G30 Hybrid can be controlled by voice, but that’s not my primary goal. The biggest advantage of this product is its ability to integrate with Google Assistant routines.
This means that by simply saying “Okay Google, I’m leaving,” I can turn off all the lights in my house and start the cleaning. This entire sequence of actions can be automated.
I’m an extreme homebody, but I often make small trips to convenience stores or the gym. If the cleaning could be done automatically every time I go out, wouldn’t that completely erase cleaning from my mind? That was the starting point for this purchase.
The Eufy RoboVac 11S Was Too Dumb
For reference, I had been using Anker’s most affordable model, the Eufy RoboVac 11S, for three years. But as the cheapest model, it was quite dumb.
- It cleaned the house randomly.
- It bumped into walls loudly.
- Its wheels would lift off the ground at slight height differences, causing it to stop.
- It wouldn’t return to the charging dock on its own.
- It was a cute little thing that often had errors.
Most importantly, it didn’t integrate with Google Assistant. I had to turn it on with the remote every time I wanted to clean, and turn it off with the remote when it was done. The cleaning performance itself was satisfactory, but it was far from automated. That’s why I purchased the Eufy RoboVac G30 Hybrid, aiming for complete automation.
The Eufy RoboVac G30 Hybrid is High-Performance (Eufy RoboVac G30 Hybrid review)
Compared to the entry-level Eufy RoboVac 11S, the Eufy RoboVac G30 Hybrid has significantly upgraded detailed performance. The appearance and structure look similar, but the functions are completely different. The color and appearance, resembling a cockroach, are even kind of cute.
Especially with the various sensors attached to the bottom, it feels even more like a cockroach. Perhaps due to the added sensors, this model only has a brush on the left side.
The most pleasing aspect is the Wi-Fi support, which eliminates the need for a remote control. You can operate it with your smartphone or control it via voice by linking it with Google Assistant or Alexa. Since there’s no remote in the first place, you don’t have to worry about losing it.

The Eufy RoboVac G30 Hybrid Can Map Unnecessarily Well
This model is equipped with a gyro sensor that allows it to recognize its position. This means it can clean efficiently. When you open the app, you can see a mapped video of how it’s recognizing the room.
However, you can only view this; no other operations are possible. It’s more of a “so this is how it sees things” kind of feature.
The Eufy RoboVac G30 Hybrid is Strong Against Obstacles
Many other minor inconveniences have also been improved. The entry-level model would often get stuck due to its wheels lifting off the ground at slight height differences, but this model goes up and immediately comes back down, changing direction. Thanks to the gyro sensor, it’s become smarter.
It doesn’t try to climb small steps forcefully and turns away immediately. It also doesn’t fall off the porch steps, which sometimes happened with the entry-level model. Overall, the probability of errors due to getting stuck on small obstacles has decreased. It’s truly outstanding.
The Eufy RoboVac G30 Hybrid Can Mop
As its name suggests, this model is a hybrid, supporting not only vacuuming but also mopping. However, its structure is very analog.
- Detach the cloth from the provided mop kit and wet it directly with water.
- Attach the wet cloth back to the mop kit.
- Fill the mop kit with water.
- Attach this kit to the Eufy RoboVac G30 Hybrid, and you’re ready.
Water automatically drips as the vacuum moves, and mopping is performed. It’s a very analog method.
The water runs out in about 15 minutes. Once mopped, the floor feels slightly smoother. It’s not a huge effect, but it’s better than nothing. You don’t need to mop every time, so you can set it up occasionally when you feel like it. The manufacturer seems to recommend this approach as well.
The Cleaning Time of the Eufy RoboVac G30 Hybrid is Somewhat Long
My dream of having a clean house while I’m out has been partially realized. However, the cleaning doesn’t finish during a quick trip to the convenience store. The cleaning time is too long.
My apartment is only about 8 square meters, but it took 30 minutes for the cleaning to complete. It thoroughly cleans, but it’s really long. The cleaning will be done by the time I return from the gym, but it definitely won’t finish during a short trip to the nearby supermarket.
There doesn’t seem to be a setting to reduce the cleaning time. However, unlike the previous model (Eufy RoboVac 11S), it thankfully returns to the charging dock on its own. The long cleaning time is something I have to accept to some extent.
Even if I return before the cleaning is finished, I can simply say “Okay Google, charge the vacuum,” and it will return to the charging dock on its own, which is less of a burden. It’s convenient.
It Picks Up More Dust Than Expected
You might have the impression that robot vacuums have weak suction, but you’ll be surprised by the amount of dust accumulated in the dustbin.
Here’s the result of cleaning my apartment, which hadn’t been cleaned for three days, for 30 minutes.
My apartment has hardwood floors, which makes suction easier, but it picked up much more dust than I expected. On the other hand, the floor became sparkling clean. The amount of dust I inhale will also decrease, which will help maintain my health. Robot vacuums and air purifier humidifiers are essential for maintaining health.
Automating Cleaning by Linking with Google Home
While the 30-minute cleaning time of the Eufy RoboVac G30 Hybrid was longer than expected, I was able to almost completely automate cleaning by linking it with Google Assistant as initially planned.
By adding turning off lights and the TV, and starting the cleaning to my “Okay Google, I’m leaving” routine, I’ve been completely freed from cleaning. I have more leisure time in my life now. I’m happy.
